Mobile Web blossoms in Serbia as Telenor Serbia partners with Opera

Oslo, Norway and Belgrade, Serbia - November 2, 2010

Telenor Serbia customers can now access the full Web through almost any mobile phone, thanks to the company's new "Klik" service featuring Opera Mini as the default web browser. The Klik service offers a free 150 MB of mobile data until the end of the year in addition to a customized version of Opera Mini with one-click access to top sites such as Blic, Blic Sport, ALO and 24 sata.

For Telenor Serbia subscribers looking to maximize their 150 MB of free data, Opera Mini is the best way to go online. Opera Mini uses powerful servers to crunch webpages down to a fraction of their size without changing the way the page is used. The compression in Opera Mini reaches up to 90 percent, meaning almost 1500 MB of webpages in Opera Mini can be viewed without going over a user's 150 MB limit.

The mobile Web in Serbia is a fast-growing phenomenon. According to statistics released today by Opera Software, Serbia ranks number one in the top European countries for both page-view growth (251 percent year-over-year) and user growth (165 percent year-over-year).

Additionally, Serbia is also the pacesetter for usage, with each mobile web user browsing 385 pages per month.

Availability

For the existing Telenor Serbia customers activation process is simple. The customer sends an SMS with the text "KLIK" to 9000. In a reply SMS he or she then receives the terms and conditions for service usage, and after accepting them, the data bundle is activated. Customer receives another two SMSs with links for downloading Opera Mini and Communicator applications. After activating those links, applications are downloaded and installed in the application folder and the services are ready for use.
