Get more chat with Opera and Tjat: Opera to incorporate Tjat Widget in mobile and devices products
Oslo, Norway - October 19, 2009
Opera Software will soon be integrating the Tjat mobile-messaging widget on Opera Mobile for Windows Mobile and Series 60 phones. This award-winning, instant-message (IM) portal, pronounced "chat", aggregates popular IM services from all over the world into one convenient widget. In addition, the Tjat Widget enables access to POP3 e-mail clients, such as Gmail or Yahoo!, as well as popular social-networking services, making this widget a one-stop shop for all your communication needs. Servicing a market with more than 900 million accounts and 13.2 billion messages exchanged on a daily basis, Tjat was the first to deliver an interactive mobile-messaging widget to customers around the world. This service brings together IM clients, including MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, Chikka, AIM and Google Talk.
"The Tjat strategy is to deliver seamless messaging on any device, in any language, from anywhere. Because of this, we find that we are definitely in sync with the mission of Opera, and, together, we plan to make instant communication even easier from portable devices," said Gideon Drori, CEO, Tjat. "With Opera incorporating our widget into their products, we are able to expand our reach to a broader audience."
The Tjat widget is currently available for download at widgets.opera.com.
"By integrating Tjat's messaging and e-mail widget into our products, we are able to merge some of the most popular services from around the world into one interface," said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software. "Tjat shares our 'anytime, anywhere' mentality, as they emphasize convenience, accessibility and options in their product. Together, we hope to improve the way that people communicate."
