New revenues in sight for operators as Opera launches cross-browser monetization solution
Rocket Marketer to help operators easily distribute contextual offers and content across their user base
Mobile operators worldwide will be able to generate new revenues and grow market share thanks to a new cross-browser mobile marketing engine from Opera Software that allows operators to re-establish a direct touch point with customers on their smartphones and tablets.
The newly launched Rocket Marketer lets operators easily distribute offers, facilitate content discovery and monetize with highly targeted in-session advertising and messaging. Offers, content and alerts are displayed to users within their browsing experiences and can be based on contextual information, such as users’ preferred content, how often they top up their data plans or their most recent contact with the operator’s customer-care center.
Rocket Marketer enables a wide range of communication from operators to their customers. Examples include:
- Data retailing or other operator services
- Content and app download recommendations
- Interstitial advertisements
- Unique customer-targeted, operator-branded experiences
- Customer service notifications
- Loyalty programs
“Operators typically only have two guaranteed monthly interactions with their customers: the monthly bill, and the network signal-strength bars on the device. These two touch points often leave customers frustrated and confused,” says Nitin Bhandari, Opera’s President of Network Solutions. “Rocket Marketer instead lets operators take control of conversations with their subscribers and speak to them in a highly targeted manner that’s advantageous to both consumer and operator,” adds Bhandari.
The solution can be quickly deployed by operators with no software preload or download required, and runs in an extremely flexible, elegant network configuration. Its unique targeting and recommendation engine is fully powered by Opera Mediaworks, the largest independent advertising platform on the planet, further assisting operators in monetizing their core assets.
Rocket Marketer is the newest addition to Opera’s cloud-based Rocket Platform, which also includes the Rocket Optimizer mobile video optimization solution and the Rocket Insights video analytics dashboard for operators.
