Digital Fashion Week expands its runway to Smart TVs through Opera TV Snap
Millions of global Smart TV viewers are now able to watch Asia’s leading fashion event Digital Fashion Week through its TV app.
Digital Fashion Week developed its first TV app using the Opera TV Snap technology, which transforms online video content into ready-to-run apps fully optimized for Smart TV devices.
The app gives viewers access to top fashion content, including catwalk shows of the best young Asian designers, interviews with fashion icons and highlights from star-studded events. Digital Fashion Week Bangkok is now happening from 6th to 9th November, in partnership with Siam Paragon Group.
Available on both the Opera TV Store application platform and Amazon Fire TV, the Digital Fashion Week app is part of a collection of web apps made for widescreen, high-definition television, so viewers can catch their favorite shows in all their glory.
Instant access to high-quality online fashion shows on TV
“We’re excited to bring Digital Fashion Week to our Opera TV Store users. It’s one of the most technologically-advanced fashion events, and we’re proud to play a part in making it even more advanced, by bringing its fashion updates to Smart TV,” says Daniel Nordberg, Head of Content Acquisition for TV & Devices at Opera Software. “Working with partners like Digital Fashion Week means we can deliver a huge variety of online content to our users in the form of TV apps - from news and sports to fashion shows.”
“In order to showcase the essence of Digital Fashion Week and engage with the global fashion audience, it is vital to have our content available on Smart TVs,” says Charina Widjaja, Business Development Director of Digital Fashion Week. “We wanted to offer high-quality online fashion content, and it made perfect sense to work with the Opera TV Store.”
Transform online video into a TV app in a snap
Reaching millions of new viewers with Opera TV Snap is fast and easy. By using the Opera TV Snap technology, Digital Fashion Week was able to transform its online video channel into a TV app in no time and at no cost. Content publishers can visit www.opera.com/tvsnap/ and click "Get started" to create their own apps. After adding the details of their video channels, Opera TV Snap will automatically load all the videos from their online video catalogs into new Smart TV apps, ready to submit for review.
The Opera TV Store is currently shipped on millions of devices with pay-TV operators and major television, Blu-ray Disc players and set-top-box manufacturers including Sony, TiVo, Samsung, RCA, TCL, Vestel, Amino, Changhong, Humax, Hisense, Konka, Skyworth and more.
