Opera Distributes Macromedia Flash Player

Bundled with its next generation Internet browser

Oslo, Norway - Mar. 26, 2001

Opera Software today announced it has licensed Macromedia Flash Player technology in the Windows, Linux and Macintosh versions of Opera's popular Web browser.

Macromedia Flash Player delivers engaging, high-impact experiences thatcombine motion, sound, interactivity and graphics. Macromedia Flash Playeris the most distributed software in the history of the Web, with more than96 percent of Web desktops able to instantly view Macromedia Flash content.

Since the launch of its free Opera 5 Web browser Opera Software has seen adramatic increase in users. Over 20 000 new users join the ranks of Operaevery day.
