The Role

Opera Mediaworks is growing and we’re actively looking for a candidate to serve in the role of SVP, Brand Advertising Sales overseeing the company’s US brand business. The position will be based in our New York City office.

In this role, you will serve as a part of the management team, reporting to the EVP of North American Sales of Opera Mediaworks, who is based in Los Angeles. Successful candidates for this position will bring a discipline of sales operational excellence and will have demonstrated deep expertise in leading large sales organizations, achieving consistent revenue growth, programmatic & performance selling, and a solid track record of working closely with AdAge’s Top 100 customers.


  • Manage, lead, train, and motivate the US brand sales team (direct managed & programmatic) for Opera Mediaworks across all key territories.
  • Strategic leadership of major North America brand advertising partnerships.
  • Work with the sales leadership team to define, achieve, and exceed revenue and business goals.
  • Oversee the US Sales AOP including budget, forecasting, and commission process.
  • Continuously evolve sales systems and processes in order to operate with optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with The Opera House, our best in class global creative collective, to deliver the highest quality advertising experiences in the marketplace. 
  • Work closely with the SVP of Strategy and Head of Client Services to deliver innovative ideas to our customers while ensuring the highest level of customer service.
  • Understand the needs, goals, and objectives of the buying community and actively advocate on their behalf with our marketing & product teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring best in class representation within the advertising community.
  • Active involvement in day to day management of Salesforce, ability to track progress and manage reports on a regular basis
  • Act as a cross-functional lead to key business units: Finance, Pub Dev, Operations and Product, Brand Performance, Programmatic and more.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop strategies for key industry events, speaking engagements, panel opportunities that are relevant for Opera Mediaworks’ participation.
  • Collaborate regularly with your global counterparts on all global related matters/deals.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be innovative, forward-thinking, high-energy, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast paced/evolving environment
  • Solid technical knowledge of the mobility space
  • Analytical/strategic Thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful, and able to initiate change and motivate innovation and creativity
  • Strong time management abilities
  • Deep industry relationships
  • 12+ years of experience and leading medium to large scaled sales teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present effectively across multiple levels in an organization including VP & C-Level audiences
  • Extensive knowledge of the digital landscape, mobile landscape, and the media industry
