Delivery Engineer

  • Working with Opera Software's key integration partners to design and integrate the Rocket solution into their platforms
  • Working with Opera Software's global customer base to understand requirements for live network trials and live deployments
  • Formulating a delivery plan, creating associated documentation such as statements of work and gaining approval from partners and customers through formal acceptance
  • Installing the Opera Software Rocket platform and associated software into customer networks, configuring and supporting such through trials and the pre-live project lifecycle
  • Understanding customer network architectures and creating both high and low level designs documenting the end-to-end Rocket platform solution
  • Assist in the dimensioning of prospective client networks to support live network trials and live deployments
  • Strong awareness of customer solution acceptance criteria for both trials and live deployments, tracking these and driving through customer satisfaction
  • Regular reporting of progress to Opera Software management
  • Provide direct customer support on escalated issues, collecting and analyzing low-level technical data, and communicating to management, internal partners, and vendors
  • Contribute to planning of customer solution improvements
  • Formal tracking of project scope change requests and following these through to implementation as necessary 
  • Perform detailed troubleshooting, identifying root cause of issues, proposing and performing remediation
  • Understanding and communicating technical issues clearly stating implications both internally and to customers as necessary
  • Perform technical support work on customer premises representing Opera Software in a professional manner while building long term customer relationships
  • Extensive global travel as necessary

  • Strong working knowledge of Linux
  • Network device configuration experience (i.e. F5, MSP, Cisco, MSE etc.)
  • Demonstrative experience in working with technical teams on solving large infrastructure and software related issues including performance and scaling related challenges
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and provide technical leadership to cross-functional team members
  • Ability to communicate concisely and clearly, both in verbal and written forms
  • Understanding of mobile technologies and concepts
  • Ability to use network monitoring and management tools
  • Ability to gather technical requirements and associated acceptance criteria
  • Ability to provide advice and recommendations to customers and partners
  • Strong understanding of distributed computing concepts
  • Experience of consumer facing Internet application products
  • More than eight years of relevant IT experience
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related field
