Another year, another season of conferences! This year we’ve noticed that ATSC 3.0 is taking the stage at many of the industry’s biggest events. During NAB Show this year we were able to catch up with our fantastic colleagues and partners and demonstrate our latest capabilities with ATSC 3.0. This was one of the hottest topics not only at this show, but across the industry right now. ATSC 3.0 sets the stage for major changes in the way we can deliver content to our consumers – and the ways they can choose to consume it. OTT and Pay TV will be transforming in the coming years to dramatically change the way consumers access content. The standard has the potential to bring the industry closer to working together and delivering the content consumers crave. If you’d like to check out the video of our ATSC 3.0 demonstration, you can view below.
We have had several Opera TV representatives speak on ATSC 3.0 and other trends this conference season. At NAB this year Mark Beckwitt, our director of business development for North America and Guiseppe Pascale, our product manager for Opera TV Snap both gave presentations. Mark participated in a panel on building compelling user experiences, highlighting the benefits of new capabilities like our companion screen and media synchronizer. Giuseppe was able to give two separate presentations on the importance of unifying the future of TV through ATSC 3.0. During his sessions, Giuseppe explored how ATSC 3.0 enables the unification of broadcasters and OTT providers to deliver a next-generation content experience for consumers.
With ATSC 3.0 broadcasters will have the ability to deliver a new and dramatically improved services without requiring consumers to upgrade their current TV setup. ATSC 3.0 can revolutionize TV viewing by enabling content interactivity, 4K ultra-HD programming, advanced emergency alerts, increase channel choice, mobile viewing capabilities, and more. If you’re interested in reading more about how ATSC 3.0 can be used to unify the industry, you can read the white paper from our CEO, Aneesh Rajaram.
Hope to see you at IBC this fall!
